  • How Long Does It Take

  • Root canal treatment must be completed before post, core build up and crown can be started and done.
  • The timeframe taken to do root canal treatment varies from 1-2 visits upwards depending on severity of case, each visit being 7 days apart. This is so that the infected root is thoroughly, completely and successfully cleaned.
  • If the tooth has no chronic infection and is a mild infection, then a one-visit root canal treatment may possibly be performed.
  • An x-ray and actual evaluation will however first be done prior to determining if tooth is a candidate for one visit root canal treatment.
  • Thereafter, a post will be inserted into the canal of the tooth root followed by core buildup and crown is placed over the tooth.
